Sarina is a mother of 3, wife, grandmother of two, mama to 2 fur-babies (boxer & Italian Greyhound mix), HR Professional, vegetarian/pescatarian, fashionista and outspoken, sarcastic animal lover. It only took me 43 years, at 4 years ago to discover that I've worked my whole life, tried various hobbies, stayed very busy only to discover that I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up and something was missing. Then one day I found a dog in a dumpster and my world changed forever. I KNEW right then what my purpose was and what I needed to do to complete me. I've become a more peaceful, accepting person over the years, however cannot and will not accept the fact that so many animals suffer at the hands of humans. So my calling is to educate when I can and use my knowledge and resources to save as many as possible. My general focus and rescue is for dogs, but I STRONGLY advocate for all animals, such as farm animals, exotic animals, seniors, special needs, etc... They all matter, the old, the sick, the neglected and those forgotten. The only way I can make difference is to take action myself. And so Hollywood Hounds was born. Why "Hollywood Hounds?" Because EVERY dog deserves to live like a star. We started the concept of this wonderful venture around 2011 and obtained non-profit status December 2013. I will always follow my own advice, remember why I, and so many others, are passionate about such an important cause, something that means so much to those with no voice. Don't ever give up!!!! We may not change the world, but we can certainly change it one world at a time.
Our mission is to help ensure all dogs get a fair chance at a good life, free from neglect, illness, hunger, being unloved, homelessness, or worse… killed for unnecessary circumstances. We advocate a no-kill society, encourage adoptions through placement services and promote animal awareness and aim to provide a sanctuary for those in need.
To provide a stable, safe environment for dogs in need. Ideally, a sanctuary with lush grass and sun and shade; separated for individual needs. There will be volunteers that care, a soft bed, healthy meals, medical care, other furry friends and a whole lot of love. More than any of them ever imagined. It will be for the big, the small, the young, the old, the well, the sick, the mixed breeds and the purebreds. The one common trait they will all have is that they ALL need love and a chance. No dog should ever not have the chance to receive love and find it’s forever home. No life should be taken unnecessarily. Everyone has their place in life, the place where you are whole. This includes dogs. Hollywood Hounds wants every dog to live like a star.
